Notre Dame Chat

I took part in ND’s admission chat that included current 1st and 2nd year students, the Assistant Director of admissions, the Director of ND’s Career Development office, and 50 other people who are interested in attending ND. Below are the key takeaways from the chat.

  • Ethics is the cornerstone of everything that ND does. Its what ND feels differentiates them from other programs and its not something they just started doing because of the mess on Wall Street. Teaching ethical decision making has been part of the ND program for a lonnnng time.
  • ND, similar to USC, touts their alumni network as one of their greatest strengths. I’m not sure if USC has alumni clubs, but there are active ND alumni clubs in almost every state, including California.
  • The business school website is being updated and should be done in 2-4 weeks. At that time, application deadline and other pertinent 2010 admission info will be online.
  • Job placement for the current class, currently at 80%,  is a little low. But is that really that surprising given the economy?
  • The only “weakness” of the program is the cold winter months. Righhhhht.

Some follow up questions that I now have:

  • More detail on Interterm project (hands on experience with a realy company mid-semester)
  • …. Fill in later

I had more than one follow up question but my mind is no longer here (it’s on a plane to Havah-E!!!!)

If anyone is interested in seeing the chat transcript, let me know!
