I should have done more research into the phone.
With an intro like that, you should suspect that I’m not pleased with Blackberry’s newest smart phone. Granted it’s their first touch screen phone so there’s probably a bunch of kinks to work out, but to deploy a phone with software that is soooooooooo painfully slow is ridiculous. Supposedly the hardware on this thing is badass, but the software has to go mess things up. The previous bb that I had was wonderful. If it weren’t for the cheesy web browser on the thing, I probably would have kept it for another year. The wonderful thing about that phone was that it was lightning quick. Compared to the Storm, the “brick” as I lovingly called it, was a lambo and the Storm is an amputee crawling through the sand with a hundred pound ball and chain tied around it’s neck. I hope bb releases a fix soon or else the Storm is going to find itself underneath my car tires….
* After reading this post again, I realized that I didn’t provide any details about the tortoise like speed of the Storm. On the iPhone, when the screen flips from vertical to horizontal, the motion is fluid and quick. On the Storm, sometimes it’ll take a second for the phone to register that its orientation is different, at which point it stops to gather itself, has a cup of coffee, forget that it needs to flip the screen, returns from its coma, and then flips the screen. Almost every motion is slow and clumsy, like it belongs in the Special Olympics of smartphones…. Hey now, if BO can make a joke about special people, so can I.
I can continue my gripes about this phone if you’re not convinced that it sucks. I feel that youre convinced so I’ll stop now!
