My coworker was telling us about an article she read in LA Weekly about starter marriages. The link is at the end of the post. The idea of a starter marriage is similar to that of a starter house. Your first marriage should last about 4-5 years. After you get a divorce, you’ll be so much wiser that your next marriage will last longer, possibly even workout till the end of time.
I thought that this was a brilliant idea. I’m a strong believer that you learn the most about yourself from the mistakes that have been commited. By the same token, I should have a starter kid too so that when I screw up the life of my first kid, I’ll be so much smarter with my second, third, and etc. kids.
